Family Shelter Renovation
SAEHC’s Family Shelter has been serving homeless families with children for over 38 years. We are in the process of updating and expanding this vital facility. The agency plans to completely rebuild the shelter in four phases. Each phase is designed so that no families will be displaced during the process. The completed shelter would serve 19 families at a time, almost a 50% increase!
Please consider helping homeless families at our shelter site by donating one or more of the following items:
Baby Care Items:
- Diapers
- Wipes
- Formula
- Bottles & Sippy Cups
Bedding/Linens:
- Pillows
- Sheets
- Blankets
- Towels
- Washcloths
Personal Care Products:
- Toothpaste
- Toothbrushes
- Disposable razors
- Shampoo/conditioners (the ones from hotels are perfect)
- Laundry soap (powdered please)
- Feminine hygiene products
- Paper goods (toilet paper, paper towels, napkins, paper
plates, etc.)
Clothing:
- Women's underwear, socks and bras (new)
- Coats, jackets or sweaters in all sizes (for children, women & men)
- Shoes (new, gently used, or gift cards to shoe stores)
Children's Items:
- Children puzzles and games
- Learning games for children
- Electric hand-held games with batteries
- Computer games rated either "G" or "PG"
- Costumes
- Playpens
- MP3 players
- Sports equipment for children: Baseball gloves (right and left hand,) Soccer balls, Wiffle ball set, etc.
Miscellaneous Items:
- Batteries
- Folding Tables
Our Family Shelter's truck has over 250,000 miles on it and is on its last legs. We use this truck to pick up large donations, to get furniture for families leaving the shelter, and to get our groceries every week.
