General Information and Requirements

The minimum age to volunteer at Sacramento Area Emergency Housing Center is 13 years old. Volunteers age 13-17 must have written parental permission in order to volunteer. All prospective volunteers must attend a 1-hour volunteer orientation in order to be eligible to become a volunteer. During orientation, volunteers will learn about the SAEHC�s history, programs and open volunteer positions. Some programs require volunteers to be a minimum of 18 years of age and the volunteer must pass a background check prior to starting their volunteer service.

Please note that completing the volunteer sign-up form online does not guarantee that you will become a volunteer for SAEHC. You must attend an orientation and complete an interview prior to selection.
